BC Insulation Rebates Guide 2026

BC homeowners can save up to $5,500 on attic insulation upgrades. We are registered with all major rebate programs and handle the paperwork for you.

// Rebate Overview

THOUSANDS IN SAVINGS AVAILABLE

British Columbia offers some of the most generous insulation rebate programs in Canada. Through BC Hydro, FortisBC, and the CleanBC program, homeowners can recover a significant portion of their insulation upgrade costs. For a typical Metro Vancouver home, combined rebates range from $750 to over $2,000.

As a registered Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN) member, Insulation Vancouver qualifies for all major BC rebate programs. We calculate your expected rebates as part of every quote and assist with the application process after your project is complete.

// CleanBC

CLEANBC & ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS

The CleanBC Better Homes program coordinates provincial and utility rebates and may offer additional incentives for comprehensive home energy upgrades. When insulation is combined with other improvements like heat pumps or windows, additional rebate amounts may be available.

Some municipalities also offer their own rebate programs or top-ups on provincial rebates. We stay current with all available programs and include them in our rebate calculations.

The Canada Greener Homes Grant (federal) provided up to $5,000 for insulation upgrades. While the federal program has closed to new applications, replacement programs may be available. We monitor all programs and will advise you of any new opportunities.

// FAQ

Rebate FAQ

Do I need to apply before or after the insulation work?
For most rebate programs, you need to complete the work first and then apply with your invoice and documentation within 6 months. Some programs require a pre-upgrade energy evaluation. We guide you through the specific requirements for each program you qualify for.
Can I stack multiple rebates?
Yes, in many cases you can combine rebates from different programs. For example, you may be able to claim both a BC Hydro rebate and a FortisBC rebate for the same insulation project. We calculate the maximum combined rebates available for your specific situation.
Do I have to use a specific contractor to qualify for rebates?
Most programs require you to use a contractor registered with the Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN). Insulation Vancouver is a registered HPCN member, so our work qualifies for all major BC rebate programs.
How long does it take to receive rebate money?
Processing times vary by program, but most rebates are processed within 4-8 weeks of submitting a complete application. BC Hydro and FortisBC typically issue rebates as cheques or bill credits.
What documentation do I need for the rebate application?
You will need your invoice showing the work completed, the R-value achieved, and the contractor details. Some programs also require a pre- and post-upgrade energy evaluation. We provide all necessary documentation with every job.
